My boyfriend and I recently moved our dog and cat from OKC to St. Lucia. COVID has made things increasingly difficult in terms of pet cargo, and St. Lucia is ridiculously strict when it comes to importing pets - lots of red tape and paperwork. We had a million obstacles when it came to getting our pets there, but Animal Land was not one of those obstacles.
We could not have made this move without them. I’ve dealt with pet shippers before when moving to Ireland, and the other company I used would have either given up (because yes - our move was THAT difficult logistically lol), or they would have shrugged things off and put us out thousands of additional dollars. Not Animal Land - Beth was so incredibly helpful throughout our move and went above & beyond on more than one occasion.
She really advocated for us when our first vet screwed things up in a big way, yet again when our next vet had zero experience with USDA health certificates and almost derailed our plans, once more when the USDA almost ruined our itinerary, and lots of other hiccups that really tried to set us back. Beth didn’t let it happen. Against basically all odds, she got our pets home safe and sound. We are so so grateful for her!
That said, moving pets is not a one way street. Be prepared to make appointments and get documents squared away with your vet, write things down when Animal Land sends you the information, and keep your game plan tight.
The game goes much more smoothly when you work as a team with your pet’s travel agent. Beth was the best teammate we could’ve asked for and we feel super lucky that we ended up choosing Animal Land for the move!!
