I started planning my family’s move from California to Europe during the early days of the COVID shutdown. I came across Animal Land Pet Movers in a google search with a couple other companies and sent out requests for quotes. They responded quickly, and had the most reasonable pricing for what was definitely going to be an expensive process. But oh man they were worth every penny!
Our contact, Melissa, was such an awesome person to help us through the entire process. She responded to emails and texts quickly, which was great as I had lots of questions and concerns. The idea of sending my dogs on a plane terrified me, my line of thinking tends to go to the worst case scenarios first! She walked me through the entire process, what needed to happen when, what documents were needed and when (and what color ink signatures needed to be in!), etc. Once we got all our documents signed she made sure everything was in order.
Covid nearly derailed our plans several times, but we managed to get everything done! We had to drive from the Bay Area down to LAX for our dogs flight as they were the closest airport flying animals during the pandemic. 5 hour drive, not too bad right? Everything went smoothly, documents were approved, and after a tearful goodbye our dogs were taken to the holding area. They were loaded on the plane, and we had liftoff! I was so relieved, after several months of planning that wasn’t too bad right??
Wrong, the plane was turned around due to technical difficulties and Melissa called me to break the news. I panicked, we were almost home, with my babies exhausted and fed up with driving. Could we drive back down? No way. I was so worried about my Staffie as he can get stressed easily and isn’t good with strangers. I was beside myself.
But Melissa got me the cell number of the main woman in the cargo area, who sent me pics of my dogs sitting safe and in their crates. She then got me the number for the LAX kennel club nearby who they work with. They arranged for the care of my dogs with them. I was sent pics of my dogs again when they arrived at the kennel, my fur babies were ok and they were brought back bright and early the next day for checkin. This time the plane took off and made it to AMS!!
Had we done the paperwork ourselves, without the help and guidance of Animal Land Pet Movers, it would have been a nightmare. Even with the plane turning around, my dogs were in safe and capable hands. And upon arrival in Amsterdam the agents there were fantastic in communicating with my family to arrange for pickup.
I trusted Animal Land Pet Movers with the lives of my furry family members, and should we ever need to transport my dogs in the future we will definitely be using them again! I cannot stress enough how fantastic this company is, and how grateful my family is for having Melissa helping us through our move!
I left my opinion about pricing on my yelp review, as someone had commented that you guys were too expensive. I told you in the beginning that another company had quoted me $12,000!!!! And that was NOT including the crates! Thank you again!
