10 Most Popular Dog Breeds

This may come as no surprise to you Lab owners, but the Labrador Retriever has topped the American Kennel Club (AKC®) list of most popular dog breeds for the 23^rd year in a row!

 The AKC top 10 are:

1. Labrador Retriever
2. German Shepherd
3. Golden Retriever
4. Beagle
5. Bulldog
6. Yorkshire Terrier
7. Boxer
8. Poodle
9. Rottweiler
10.  Dachshund

Number 11 on the list?  French Bulldogs.  These small but strong and playful pups have risen dramatically in popularity for the past 10 years.

Trivia:  Did you know Labradors aren’t from Labrador?  The breed is originally from Newfoundland, an area just a little further south on the east coast of Canada.
